Barracudas!

Good evening, hope you all enjoyed your weekend. WOW - What a great Mock Meet on Saturday!! We had so much fun watching you all swim and are so proud of all of you!! Hopefully you all had fun too! Shout outs to all our swimmers, especially our first-timers, and those that tried a new stroke or event! You should be so proud of your efforts & accomplishments!!! A special thank you to a few swimmers that stepped up to swim a relay, so others would get the chance to swim! And Parents/Volunteers - THANK YOU! for all you did to help the meet run so smoothly! The results are attached, but here is a summary of the meet:

• 99 swimmers
• 275 swims
• 208 new times and/or improved times - ...that's amazing!!!!

Please note – there were only a few Disqualifications, or ‘DQs’, listed on the results. A DQ is a rule infraction for either a stroke, start or turn. The Coaches have a full listing and will be reviewing these during practices this week. For all meets going forward, a swimmer can only swim events for which their stroke is legal. 

This week will be our last week of evening practices, and Monday's practice will be 'Fun Day Monday'! All swimmers are invited - it’s basically open swim during your scheduled practice time.

For the remainder of this week, we will focus on further development of our freestyle and backstroke, and we may introduce elements of breaststroke. We will also work on starts, turns and finishes. Tuesday and Thursday will be new 8 & Under/6 & Under swimmers, and Wednesday will be returning 8 & Under/6 & Under swimmers.

Our next meet is scheduled this Saturday 6/15 @ 8:30am against Chase Creek. This is a Home meet, at Bay Hills, with a start time of 8:30 so warm-ups will be sometime around 7:30am, but we will confirm when we send out the heat sheets later in the week. The Meet Sign-up is now open, so please declare if your swimmer(s) is going to attend, and pick the events you would like to swim. Remember - if you don't tell us you will attend, we will not put your swimmers in the meet. Coaches will make all final decisions. The Meet Sign-up will close Wednesday @ 3pm to allow the Coaches time to finish the line-up.
