Indian Landing meet results and looking ahead to Cape next Saturday

Barracudas!

WOW!! What an exciting meet that was!! Unbelievable! So proud of everyone for putting forth such a strong Team effort – swimmers trying new events, completing flip turns, and building confidence in all that you & the Team can do, together!!!

The Coaches would like to send a special shout out to Harper Metcalf and Sam Gaither. Harper stepped in and volunteered to swim in a relay so that her 3 Team mates could still swim the event. Thank you, Harper!

And Sam Gaither swam his first 100 Individual Medley – as an 8 & Under!!! Way to go for it, Sam!

So many time drops and broken records (7 in total!!!) made this Saturday’s meet one for the ages, but the truly most impressive thing is how we come together as a Team and show everyone who we are and how it’s done!

The results are attached, and here is summary of the meet:

105 swimmers

309 splashes

128 improved times

Final score: Bay Hills – 292, Indian Landing - 203

And a BIG thank you to all of our Volunteers who helped make our final home meet such a HUGE SUCCESS!

Congratulations to several Barracudas who set new Bay Hills Team and Pool records:

  • Ellie Moran – broke her own Team and Pool records in the Girls 15-18 50 meter Breaststroke! Her time of 36.39 beat her previous time of 36.75, set at the Chase Creek meet on 6/15.
  • Liam Crowder, Bentley White, Logan Gondak, and Logan Sabo – set a new Pool record for the Men’s 150 meter Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:38.32. The previous record of 1:39.31 was set earlier this season at the Chase Creek meet.
  • Gwen Davis, Kayla Rose, Sophie Figueroa, and Sara Dreibelbis – broke the Women’s 150 meter Freestyle Relay Pool record, with a time of 1:43.31. The previous record time of 1:43.51 had been set in 2023 by Cape St. Claire.

Speaking of Cape, our next meet will be against the Cape St. Claire Dolphins on Saturday 7/6 @ Cape. They could be our toughest competition yet, so please log in to Swimtopia and let us know whether you are swimming. We’d like to get working on the lineups today! Please note - parents and swimmers can now indicate if they are available for early, late or both relays.

Don’t forget - Monday is Funday Monday, and practices are scheduled for July 4th!

Thanks everyone, enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Coaches Ana, Camryn and Dean
