Mock Meet Results and Looking Forward to Cape

Good evening Barracudas!

What a great Mock Meet this weekend! So many examples of courage and determination, and good sportspersonship - way to go Barracudas!! We had 95 Silver qualifying times and 9 Gold!  Unbelievable for our first meet - everyone should be proud! Thanks to all of our Volunteers for all of the support.  We literally can't do this without your contributions!

Attached are the results.  It's early in the season and this was our practice meet, so we had some bugs and quirks but it was fun!. We will spend some time this week focusing our attention on technique adjustments and talk about disqualifications - what they are, and how we correct our stroke to make it legal. It's all about effort and putting in the work - everything else will work itself out.

This Saturday we have our first dual meet, at home, against Cape St. Claire.  We have a long friendly rivalry with the Dolphins, and like always this will be a close meet.  They are a strong Team and they always push us to be our best, so let's go!!!

The sign up for the Cape meet closes tomorrow, Tuesday, at 5pm.  Please let us know if you are coming or not, and if you are - what events you would like to swim. Please note - the Coaches will always make the final event assignments.  If a swimmer cannot do the stroke legally yet, we cannot enter them in the event.  If a swimmer is close to legal and may have a chance to swim the stroke legally, we will enter them in the event.  GASL is strict about this rule and so we follow it.

Volunteers! There are still spots available - please sign up to help in any way you can! THANK YOU!!!

Look for more meet information in the coming days.  Have a great night!

Thanks,

Coaches Ella, Lizzie, Marley and Dean
